cricut machine

Post  ccortes on Thu 01 Jan 2009, 4:49 am

Crying or Very sad I purchased a new cricut machine for provocraft for my daught this christmas..

& of course it doesn't work & you cannot get up with anyone on the support line.

I have tried several times & I am disgusted- you cannot get thru. I have been

looking @ blogs & several diff. places for any answers to why the machine does

work.. The green light comes on but that is it.. it does not gear up nor does the

LCD display lights come on... I am so disappointed.. My daughter really wanted

this machine... it looks like I am going to have to send it back.. if anyone out there

could offer some suggestions please do so.. thanks

Hi there,
sorry to hear you are having trouble with the cricut machine. I had a customer who had problems with her machine and she said that provocraft were very helpful. I hope this link to their web site can help. Good luck! Oh and Happy New Year!

Sorry to hear that you have a faulty machine but it sounds like one of the wires or pcb boards inside may be loose or poorly connected. Least to say it isn't your power supply nor the ability for the machine to power up.... the only thing I can think of is have you made sure you removed all the internal packaging round the blade housing and stuff??? Sorry if I am being obvious.... just trying to help, but I doubt if it would make a difference if there is nothing on your display screen as even without a cartridge it should something along the lines of "no cartridge detected" or words to that affect.
It seems your only choice is to send it back to where it came from i only hope that you didn't buy it from CC. If there is anything else I can try and help with please feel free to pm me .

Hi,

Were did you purchase your Machine?

If you purchased from a store in the UK you will be best to contact either Branwells, or Karz (the two UK imports/suppliers). You should be able to quote the serial number to them and they will tell you if it is one of their machines.

If you did not buy from a UK supplier you will be very lucky if they will help you as Provo Crafts Terms and Conditions state that you can only uses a power supply that is provided with the machine (eg buy a machine from the USA and swaping the plugs viods the warrenty).

Hope this is not too confusing! If you have anymore problems please don;t hesitate to email me, thomas@ukcricuteers.co.cc

Thanks

The mat won't stop moving

Post  medicalcity on Fri 13 Feb 2009, 1:08 pm

I have used my new cricut expression four times so it's fairly new. I had and sold the small cricut. My problem is the mat moves all around and won't stay still even under max pressure. I put in a new mat and a new needle, now what? Please help

Hiya Mel

You say the mat moves ?? Or the paper/ cardstock moves ??? I cant see how the mat can move around as its gripped with rollers and thats how it cuts!! I have however had massive problems witht the paper/cardstock not sticking to the mat and shifting ruining my cuts. This is because the mat loses its tacky ness over time, solution could be as easy as a chisel tip zig pen xxxx

If the mat moves there is a fault and you should take/send it back. If your paper moves we use Wacky tack spreadable glue to retack (I know that's not a real word but I like it). Clean all the mess off your mats, spread on a thin layer of glue, leave to dry and hey presto!
