I definitely agree, reading that seems to remind me of the oh so lovely faxes we used to receive. We will all move on when we have got what is owed to us, how dare you tell us to grow up!!!!
I’m a strong believer in what goes around comes around!!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Re: Move on...

Post  Rembrant on Mon 26 Jan 2009, 2:41 pm

Yeah, I've worked for CC, and yeah the impact of the company going under has affected me and my family. I am not however (as stated by some) a member of the King family, or have an association with their circle. Unlike many people on this forum I am making an effort to channel my energy in a positive way, looking ahead and making a plan. I am not choosing to make bitter, sarcastic, ill informed, cheap shots at people.

Redundancy is a process that will be concluded. It's tough for a lot of people, me included. However it is not something you have a great deal of control over so its best to accept that and as mentioned previously, move on. Its good advice, and you know it. To read some of the entries on this forum is like observing the behaviour of a child. If you react badly to reading that, then maybe you know you fall into this category.

The King's may be a little eccentric, they may (at times) not have very good people skills and when stressed can on occasion be rude. However what you need to understand are that the owners/managers of CC put a significant amount of energy, time, commitment and not least money into the firm, and no matter how much you feel it has affected you I am sure they too have suffered (probably far more). Nobody wanted this. Lets not forget there is a serious economic downturn right now, retail is on its rear end, and firms a lot bigger and more established than CC have hit the skids. Apparently 85 companies a day are going to the wall. I guess errors were made at CC, however hindsight is a wonderful thing. I doubt anyone would not change something in the past should they have the ability to turn back time.

To feel down and vulnerable following this redundancy, and to feel a sense of anger at the way things have worked out are natural and understandable reactions. However you are adults. To sit at a keyboard and trot out some of the stuff on this forum is (in some instances) childish and often misinformed.

Make a plan, keep your blood pressure down, and stay positive.

Move on. I have.

Why don't we start feeling sorry for you and your KING friend right now?????
You know we are all clear about the credit crunch and that it has affected a lot other companies but the bloody difference is the fact that in the other companies the staff were properly informed about the termination of their jobs and not on the day the shop closed down, also in other companies once they know it is not going to work out they do not bloody let their staff still sell their vouchers as they know they will not honour it. As i already stated i believe it is STEALING, so why don't you keep your opinion to yourself and let these hurt people deal with their on way of moving on!!!

Rembrant, first of all I was never made Redundant, secondly dont come on here telling me this happened because of the "credit crunch" coz it didnt it happened before that saying ever came out, and it was all because he fell out with the companies that the customers were wanting craft items for , I have seen our years takings and I could point out oh yes thats when he fell out with DO and then it was....... so on and on. so dont tell me how to feel I dont know you, you dont know me.
I was just coming out of a depression after being ill then this happened a month later yeah that did me the world of good. NOT

So unless you have something beter to say keep it to yourself!!!!!!!!!

hahaha this is the joke of the day
i dont think you could have worked for them very long or didnt see them that much, i had customers asking me if i was ok after pat had screamed at me for no reason and then flounced out before i could get a word in edge ways.

However what you need to understand are that the owners/managers of CC put a significant amount of energy, time, commitment and not least money into the firm, and no matter how much you feel it has affected you I am sure they too have suffered (probably far more).

No it was the staff who put in the energy, time and commitment! If the kings have suffered so badly how can they within weeks of losing 1 business then start another with no money if this is the case i would like to use the same strategy to start my own business because i have no money and i wasnt even notified by the Kings i was losing my job i was on the sick because of an accident at work so i dont feel down and vunerable far from it i feel bloody angry and i think i have every reason to feel this way, the wonderful kings rang me 0 times to see how i was after dan telling me to get an ambulance to take myself to the hospital when i had the accident staff in the other shop we was attached to showed more concern. So i think i am entitled to be angry dont you. and Rembrant if you would like to pm me i will gladly talk to you over the phone i for 1 dont think you are who you say you are!
