Let's get crafting again.

Post  janet on Mon 26 Jan 2009, 3:05 pm

Come on girls we cant change what has happened so lets remember what else we have in common.
Yes all you crafters out there lets see what youv'e all been up to. Anyone got any cards, scrapbook pages or new ideas to share? yes well lets see what youv'e been up to and create some new topics. I for one know we are all suffering in some way after what has happened so lets start cheering each other up the best way we know how.
Look forward to seeing your efforts as I badly need some good ideas to get motivated again.
Keep smiling you never know what's round the corner.

Here here. I know I went through a bad crafting patch after the shop shut, but I remembered the only reason I started the job was my love of craft. I know I'm one of the lucky ones, but I think crafting is a great sorce of therapy. Lets all put our energy into something positive, I mean be honest with yourselves how much stuff have you bought over the past few years, do something with it.

Yey! I think we should lose no more time get crafting girls. Although I am slightly jealous cos with 22month old twins demanding my attention all day I don't get to play enough. So my advice is do it while you can. Fill your boots as they say.

Almost went there myself, thought I'd have to sell my stuff to pay the bills, but glad now I didn't have to. I feel like we have been robbed of enough don't let them take this too.

I never stopped

This is the most positive email I have seen this year!!!
I have been running regular workshops for over a year, We just reloated when the shops closed, the customers wanted to carry on and were prepared to add the exspense of the hall into the cost of the workshops. I am thriving and have had to add on more classes for the demand.
So come on girls get positive start up a workshop the demand is there people can't afford to go out but their hobby is a cheap option.
I love it I show a different technique each week, I supply everything, all they do is turn up with the basics knife mat scissors and steel ruler. I provide everything else to make 6-8 cards over 4 hours

Working in craft central gave me the confidance to start and co-run a local craft club, where three of us take it in turns to come up with ideas and pass them on to the others, we started with five and in three weeks have over a dozen, three who have never crafted before. That coupled with comming up with ideas for my scout group(tommorow its chinese dragons and money envelopes for the new year),helping my friend make the 150+ wedding invites, running a technique ATC swap and entering two others; I seem to be doing more crafting since we closed.
