Just a warning to anyone who did not receive holiday pay with their wages and redundency, ring the insolvency and the administrators, I have spoken to Peter Connor who works for Leonard Curtis. the holiday pay has been mucked up big time. All of us at Silverdale have had to get this delt with.

I've now spoken to Elaine Camm who is dealing with our payments, it turns out that she's not sure anyone's pay is going o be right because guess who was too helpful handing over all the correct information! I've had to spend this afternoon going through my holiday pay with her because it was all wrong.

4weeks they don't include bank hols. So it's 4 times your usual hours.

In 2008 it was increased to 24 days per annum - as we were contracted as hourly paid, the best way to keep track of it was to convert the 24 days to hours. i.e. 24 times the no.of hours you were contracted to work a day

24 x 6 = 144 hours holiday pay for 2008 assuming you worked the whole year - otherwise it will be part thereof

If you have kept a record of how many hours you took each time, deduct it from your annual total. Hours taken/remaining didn't (and, as far as I am concerned, should) appear on our monthly wage slips. Hope you can sort it.

Im defo owed more than on pay slip then(know it woz only guide but its way out incl. tax Ive paid coz they ave done it in bits Ive paid ova £100 more than on slip)

Hopefully we will all b paid off soon and put a line unda the sorry mess.

We received this from Mr Bateman at head office in February 2008, an amendment and addition to our Handbook..... as quoted exactly below

"Holiday Enitilement

As a result of Government Legislation your holiday entitlement for 2008 has been increased from 20 days to 24 days per annum and will further increase to 28 days from April 2009.

From the holiday year 2008 the following will apply,

The Company will in future close Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, staff who would normally work on a day when any of the above fall must take that day as part fo their annual paid leave. Therefore, for the 2008 holiday year staff who would normally work on either Easter Sunday, Christams Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day must take those days as part of their paid holiday entitlement. (This applies to this holiday year even though we have already had New Year's Day) Similarly, where the site is known to close for a longer period over the Christmas and New Year holidays then those days must also be taken as part of holiday entitlement.

During 2008 those staff that work on the remaining Bank Holidays will still be entitled to be paid at the rate of time and a half provided the store rota has been approved by their Regional Manager in advance. However, from 2009 when the remaining 4 additional holidays are introduced the company will treat bank holidays as normal working days, staff who work those days will be paid the normal rate."

The government will not pay for bank holidays so we all loose out on xmas day and boxing day. If you included bank hols in your holiday allowence this will make it wrong. Therefore all payments will be wrong. It's very confusing basically they will only pay for holiday pay owing not including the bank holidays. The letter from Mike is now not worth the paper it was written on.
