Marie Curie appeal
Just to thank and let all our fantastic, hard working, Daisy Nook customers know that we have already collected over 400 cards for the Marie Curie appeal.
Thanks go to another special customer who will forward them to DoCrafts, together with all others made at a card making evening to be held on 10 April. For more information on how to join in the fun of this event, phone our branch, details in the store locator section.
Re: Marie Curie appeal
That's brilliant!! I see on the website they have over 42,000 cards so far - a brilliant cause!
Re: Marie Curie appeal
Just an idea; but would it be an feasable to have collection points at Do craft shops?
That way you could drop a card in each time you visit, rather than having to save them up and then require a second mortgage to post them. Also it might encourage other shoppers to join in if they see the collection point and realise they don’t have to go to the trouble of posting them.

Re: Marie Curie appeal
This is something I spoke about at my local craft shop. We felt it also an idea to have the craft shop that you got the envelopes from stamped it. This could then start a bit of competition and encourage the shops to promote it more and then in turn produce more cards and encourage sales at the shops and inturn more money for the charity.
great to encourage crafting great for the till great for the charity great for the future Its a WIN WIN

Crafters and compatition.always a good combination.
So maybe an element of competition, have the cards collected at the CC and feature the “Card of the week” which would raise the standard of cards for sale even higher and therefore sell more cards for the charity

Re: Marie Curie appeal
I know one place where they collect the cards and send them on. Because I can drop cards off without having to deal with the postage myself, I am inclined to do more cards. I currently have about eight to drop in, with more to be made.
Re: Marie Curie appeal
Had great fun last night at the Marie curie card making crop, was a little embarrassed that I had the mostest stash there but people enjoyed having a play with it as much as I do!! It was great for me and Dawn as we don't get out much here are a couple of photos of the cards we made wish I would have taken much more but got too busy chatting and helping people. Wanted to take pics of the people and all the cards laid out on the table at the end too but was busy packing my stash
Ah well just have to take more pics next time and make a few cards up beforehand so I can spend the evening chatting and playing

Re: Marie Curie appeal
It was great everyone having a play with each others stash trying new things and learning new techniques, our very own PAtsy from our local CC store did a demo on teabag folding as well!!!
