Huge cards

Post by Sue Davis on Thu 27 Mar 2008, 7:36 pm

Hi
I have been asked to make a wedding card for a colleague at work, but they have asked me to make it A3 sized with an envelope. Does anyone know where I can get hold of card blanks and envelopes this size?
Thanks
Sue

any art store or whsmiths have that size. or you can have 2 bits of a4 card and make a hinge I have done this a few times you get a strip of card the same length quite wide and score it down the centre and stick it inside the 2 a4 cards your insert will hide this inside.
Hope you get on okay with this most of the time I have to use white envelopes with an end opening for this size. also from whsmith

Hi

Does the finished card have to be A3 size? If so you will need some A2 card folded in half - a lot of sites sell this but it seems to be mainly in bulk packs although if you have a local printers/stationers you might be able to buy a single sheet. If all else fails you could get 2 sheets of A3 card and join them together - I know our local CC sells A3 card so I'd assume others do too Smile

I made an A3 card a few weeks ago. I used mountboard for the cover. I bought double A3 size and cut it in half (for back and front cover). I covered the edges with patterned paper and decorated the front with pics and other embellishments. A local card maker sells similar cards for £70!!!!! Total cost for mine was probably about £4!

We have A3 card from Kamban at C C Crowland, so you should be able to get some from your local craft central. There is only a limited amount of coloured though, (about 5 or 6).

Hope this helps
