ATC Swaps at Bicester Craft Central - 1st ATC circle SWAP

I thought I would start this topic to create an opportunities for ATC swaps at Bicester
This Saturday we will be ready to swap! Plus...the Do-Craft demo is on so you'll have a fun, learning day all around.

2nd - I was wondering if any one would like to do a SMALL ATC swap circle. 5 people make 5 ATCs (all the same) and we swap them amongst each other. So each person each ends up with 5 different ones. I was thinking we could have a theme? If more than 5 would like to try it..we can. But I have a card(hard) time committing to more than 10 (I have done this with cards or scrapbook pages).

Since I'm proposing it, I'll say the theme is ... homes (I know its an odd theme but hey..its interesting and I have that new Do-CRAFt Door stencil! lol)

So if you would like to join the ATC swap - PM (private message me - its on the right near the bottom). Let me know your name. When I have the group - I'll post it here. Then we can meet at Bicester Craft Central or, if you are far away, you'll need to post yours to me - and then I'll distribute them and post them back!

Ok.. so Saturday the 29th of March if you would like to do our "house" themed ATC swap.. be there. If you can't make it.. PM me and we'll figure out a way so you can participate. For the first one - we'll start it at 5. So you only have to make 5 ATCs (that look similar) to swap.

This one is made with Basic grey paper - 2 scoops.. the Fair Doors Template by Dovecraft, chalk inks and glitter glue.

I'm not sure about calling mine art, but they were a bit crafty

For anyone interested I used an online thesaurus for a definition of house and loads of synonims. This acted as a spur to the imagination and the basis of one of my papers as I copied and pasted the text into word, printed it on cream paper, then over-stamped with gold and copper for an aged finish and topped it off with some antique blue flourishes.

The other images were online free printable from http://picasaweb.google.com/cardmakingworld. The background collage was printed on A4 inkjet paper and the main images printed onto photo-paper.

After that it was just a case of cutting, tearing, inking edges and sticking!

ps I forgot to mention that I also carried the house theme into the underlying cards. They are made from playing cards and as a hand form a full house! Three "2"s (because that's my house number) and two Aces because it was such and ace idea.

Having just spoken to Crafting Learning at the store this morning I would be quite interested in joining this swap. I know you have said Saturday, but what time?

Love the idea of ATC's. I have'nt done anyhting like that so might give it a go.

Roo was it yours I saw today? They are beautiful!!! Can't wait til next week!!! And I love how you have done the background paper, I thought you had bought it (and was wondering where to get it from!!!!!) I might have a go with that!

Yes, it was and I always say say if an idea works it's worth copying! You could always print a copy of your painting and use it as a background, too

Thats a really good idea!! Artist trading cards started off as purely pieces of art (they still are in a way but you know what i mean!!! LOL) So could I put art on them instead of crafty stuff? Coz iv got pictures of homes and things!!! The ones I have done so far look really bad compared to yours and Terris

Pfft! I was worried that mine were naff and Terri was fretting about hers... Just go for it! In my book with ATCs anything goes

I had a go at another home one, Id really like to do ones that link more to homes!! But they keep going back to what im comfortable with

Also, the regular swaps today was FUN! I swaped with the Do-CRAFT lady! Check the Bicester workshop area because Trimcraft and Do-Craft are holding more demos and create and takes!

Just thought i'd say how much i enjoyed the swap yesterday - it was good to meet everyone.

I've already done my ATCs for the flowers swap in a couple of weeks - I can't be there but I'll drop my cards into CC before the date. I've attached a pic of one - I've used the new Laura Ashley papers
